Saturday night aka Halloween aka American kids & college kids/recent grads/not so recent grads dressing up and getting crazy aka A WORK NIGHT.
While my compatriots in the States pranced around the streets of Washington, DC, East Lansing, Chicago, and wherever costumed shenanigans could be found, I was watching soccer and going to bed early to get sleep and function well at work...Oh how the times have changed in 365 short days.
That being said, my inactivity Saturday night gave me time to think up a sweet costume for next halloween, which, as of right now, I could spend in either the Middle East (again), Europe, or the USA; it all depends. I have decided to be a Panda next year no matter where I am, complete with black & white face paint and a black & white 3/4 softball tee.
It's November now, which is hard to believe, mainly because the temperatures in Dubai are still hovering arounf 90-93 degrees, which is pretty awesome. These weather conditions, though tropical, actually have me missing the feel of late autumn/early winter, a festive and orange time as I've known it 21/22 of my years.
This weekend, my parents come into Dubai after my dad wraps up his conference in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia. I am excited to show them around Dubai and show them just how over-the-top and structurally incomplete a lot of it is. We have reservations at Buddha Bar, the restaurant that I ate with my dad's work colleague, Mrs. Evans a month or so back. On Saturday, we have reservations for "afternoon tea" at the Skyview Bar on the top of the 7 star Burj Al-Arab hotel, which should be enjoyable.
This blog post is a brilliant example of stream of consciousness! (I apologize)
I hope everyone back home and abroad is doing well!
Cheers,
Brian
