The past week has been tiring, rewarding, stressful, and fun. I have been given more responsibilities at the office and, so far, the project is going very well and the experience I am getting should prove helpful in the future.
I have five weeks left in Dubai before Christmas and I plan to use the weekends to experience and enjoy the sights and events that are going on in and around Dubai.
This week is the Fifa Beach World Cup and it is free entry every night this week... I hope to catch a game or two.
I also have plans in the pipeline to:
1. ride a dhow boat (a local wooden vessel, complete with lights around the border of the boat)
2. take an afternoon cruise in the Persian Gulf
3. See the Fifa Club World Cup
4. Go to Abu Dhabi to see the new Formula 1 circuit and surrounding island
I truly hope I will make the best of the beautiful weather and the upcoming Eid & National Day holidays in a couple weeks as well.
This past weekend was my flatmate, John's, birthday and we celebrated with a delectable dinner at a nice Chinese restaurant. As a gift, I told John I would take him to Fuddrucker's (there's on right in my apartment complex), my treat.
The rest of this week at work should prove just as busy, but I enjoy the fast-paced, deadline-driven, responsibility fueled world of Business to Business marketing communications and I have learned the importance of strict attention to detail.
I wish my Dad a speedy recovery from hip replacement surgery and the best of luck with physical therapy.
I wish the rest of you a pleasant Monday and a great week ahead.
Cheers,
Brian
